A view across the Devil’s Punch Bowl beside the Sailor’s Stone, with dark trees framing yellow-green light, touches of orange and distant hills. Part of Simon Robin Stephens’ Surrey Sanctuaries collection.
The painting grew from a walk through Simon’s favourite Surrey Hills landscape, a quick study from the sandstone viewpoint and a conversation with the National Trust café team.
